bigfix makes big donation

Stuart Wilson, the creative force behind the “brutal honesty” CD release party and label launch for bigfix, recently presented a cheque to the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund. The donation came from funds raised at the sold out event held at the Smiling Buddha in September.

Wilson presented a $400 cheque to Music Therapist Carolyn Williams at the Bloor Street West center last week. The funds will be used to help the children from the Down Syndrome group

While there, Wilson got to participate in a music therapy session. “It was great to visit the center and meet the children first hand…I got to see where the funds were going and how they’d be used,” says the sound engineer and impresario, “I enjoyed engaging with (clients) Ariel and Melanie as (therapists) Carolyn and Donna lead us through an eight-part, one hour Music Therapy session incorporating rhythm and song…each member playing their part with differing percussion and instrumentation…a fun time was had by all!”

Wilson is working on developing his bigfix production studio but in the meantime, looks forward to developing a relationship with the Trust in the future.
